Christopher Reckord
Christopher Reckord is a Tech Entrepreneur with almost forty (40) years of experience in the delivery and implementation of Information Technology, Cybersecurity & Digital Transformation solutions. Chris is co-author of the recently published book titled: Successful Digital Transformation – Your World, Your Business, Your Life … reimagined
Finding himself
In the 80’s he started in the working world as a teacher by day and sound system DJ by night. In the 90’s he jumped into the IT space by becoming a Computer Technician. In the 2000’s he pivoted to various leadership positions in the IT Industry here and also when he migrated to the USA where he decided that the DJ nightlife was taking a toll and he decided to take on the study of wine as a hobby instead.
Experience Executive
Chris is a board member and was former CEO of tTech Limited – A Cybersecurity & Managed IT Services provider listed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange. He was a Founder and Former CEO of computer value added reseller Innovative Corporate Solutions. His North American experience came from time spent at Adjoined Consulting in Miami, Florida where he held a number of roles the last one being Director of IT. Prior to moving to the USA he was part owner and Director at Innovative Systems Limited, Jamaica. Chris is a regular speaker on Technology, Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation. Chris prides himself as being a lifelong learner.
Education
His formal education includes a diploma in Industrial Education (with a specialization in Electrical Technology) from the College of Arts Science & Technology (now the University of Technology), and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Barry University, Miami. Chris recently completed an executive education course at Columbia University’s Business School in New York on High Impact Leadership.
Professional Memberships
Chris is a member of the PSOJ and currently serves as Chairman of their Innovation and Digital Transformation committee. Chris is a former executive of the Jamaica Technology & Digital Alliance (a merger of Jamaica Computer Society & the Jamaica Information Technology & Services Alliance (JITSA). He was a member of the Signature Program in Strategic Coach which is an organization run by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs — the recognized leader worldwide in entrepreneurial coaching. Chris recently completed his Exponential Organization (ExO) Foundations Course and he is a member of the OpenExO community which is a global platform for Exponential Transformation networking, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
Passion Work
For fun, his love for the business of wine has seen him become the leading voice on the topic of wine in Jamaica, writing 500+ articles as a weekly Wine Writer for the Jamaica Observer for over 11+ years and conducting a wide range of wine education & entertainment events.
Public Service
For public service, Chris is a Justice of the Peace, he serves on a number of boards & committees for the Government of Jamaica including being a member of the Ministry of Tourism’s Gastronomy Network Committee, the Digital Transformation Advisory Council and he currently serves as Chairman of the Data Protection Oversight Committee and the National Artificial Intelligence Taskforce. Chris is happily married to Kerri-Anne and they have two beautiful daughters.
